Miss Earth 2008 Special Awards

Miss Earth is one of the most prestigious beauty pageants. Every year since its establishment, the winners and candidates of the competition are involved in various activities aimed at promoting the noble cause of preserving the environment and protection of Mother Earth. Apart from declaring the winner and the runners-up, the contest also bestows special awards to its candidates. All of the 85 candidates of Miss Earth 2008 participated in the National Costume competition held on October 28, 2008 at the PAGCOR Grand Theatre in Paranaque City, where special awards were declared.

Miss Earth 2008 Special Awards

Best National Costume: Miss Panama Shassia Ubillus won the coveted the Best National Costume award.

Miss Photogenic: Miss Philippines Karla Paula Henry was adjudged the Miss Photogenic Award at the National Costume Competition.

Miss Talent: Miss Australia Rachael Smith won the Best in Talent award in the competition.

Best in Swimsuit: Miss Mexico Abigail Elizalde received the Miss Earth 2008 Best in Swimsuit award in a contest held at the Fontana Leisure Resort, Pampanga.

Miss Micu Confidence: Miss Greece Ria Antoniou grabbed the Miss Micu Confidence award. She was also entitled to Joel Cruz Signature Award.

Face of The Night: Face Of the Night award went to Miss Columbia Mariana Rodríguez.

Best in Long Gown: The Miss Earth 2008 Long Gown competition took place at PAGCOR Grand Theatre in Parañaque City on November 3. Miss Venezuela Daniela Torrealba was declared as the winner of this award.
