Alexandra Braun Waldeck

The Venezuelan beauty, Alexandra Braun Waldeck, bagged the title of Miss Earth 2005. She paved her way, defeating eighty contestants from around the world. Coming from a German background, Braun was born in the year 1983. She grew up in Caracas but it was after World War II that her family shifted base to Venezuela. Alexandra has completed her education with a Technical Degree in Marketing and Advertising.

Apart from winning the Miss Earth contest, Braun had also participated in the 2005 Miss Venezuela pageant. She represented Nueva Esparta at the pageant, where she finished as a first runner up. However, things did not end by being just a first runner up position. She was selected by Sambil Model Caracas to represent Venezuela at Miss Earth held in Manila, Philippines. Eventually, Braun not only bagged the title but also got the prize for Best in Swimsuit.

The victory of Alexandra Braun Waldeck, was the first that her country had received in the Miss Earth Contest. This win also made Venezuela the second country after Brazil to win all of the "Big Four" pageants. In the following year, she crowned her Miss Earth Venezuela successor, Marianne Puglia as Miss Earth Fire, which is same as that being the 3rd runner-up in the contest.
