The 57th Miss Universe contest will take place in the
Nha Trang city in Vietnam on July 14, 2008. Eighty contestants belonging
to different nations will be competing against each other to lay their
hands on the Miss Universe 2008 crown. Amongst these eighty contestants
will be chosen, top fifteen contestants, who will be a step closer to
fulfill their dreams of being declared a perfect and lethal combination
of both beauty and brains in the world. After four weeks of events,
rehearsals and preliminary competition it will be decided by the judges
as to who amongst the eighty contestants are fit enough to get into the
top fifteen slot.
The top ten contestants are declared in order of final placement after
competing in evening gown and swimsuit events. Prior to the announcement
of the top ten contestants, top fifteen contestants are declared by
judges after competing in evening gown. These top fifteen contestants
are chosen after the judges see how poised the young ladies are wearing
the evening gown and how gracefully they carry the elegant garment. The
top fifteen contestants then move on to compete in the swimsuit rounds
after which, five contestants are eliminated. These ten contestants then
become the semi-finalists of the Miss Universe beauty pageant. The top
fifteen contestants too however come a long way in the beauty pageant
after competing against sixty-five odd contestants from different parts
of the world. It now remains to be seen as to who will be the top
fifteen contestants, at the Miss Universe 2008 beauty pageant.
